Pharmacare Manitoba

The Pharmacare program in Manitoba provides financial assistance for purchasing prescription medications for residents of the province, regardless of age or medical condition, whose incomes are significantly impacted by high medication costs. Coverage under Pharmacare is determined by total family income and the amount paid for eligible prescription medications.

Eligibility Criteria

Residency: You must be a resident of Manitoba and hold a valid Manitoba Health card.
Other Coverage: Your prescriptions must not be covered by other provincial or federal programs.

How to Apply for Pharmacare

There are two ways to apply for Pharmacare in Manitoba:

One-Time Registration (Option A):

This option eliminates the need for annual reapplication. After a one-time registration, your information will automatically be updated annually.

Annual Application (Option B):

You must submit a completed application form each year by March 31 of the current year.

Application Process
  • Complete the Application Form:

Download and fill out the Pharmacare application form.

  • Submit the Form: Mail your completed form to:

Deductible Calculation

Each year, you are required to pay a portion of your eligible prescription costs, known as the annual Pharmacare deductible. The deductible amount is based on your adjusted family income. Once you reach this amount, Pharmacare covers 100% of eligible medication costs until the end of the current fiscal year (April 1 to March 31).
